Universal Banker

The Universal Banker delivers a full-service banking experience by combining transactional support with relationship-building activities. This role is responsible for meeting customer needs through product knowledge, service execution, and proactively identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and grow deposits. Responsibilities:Provide teller services while also opening and maintaining accounts.Respond to customer inquiries and service requests promptly and accurately, taking ownership through resolution and escalating complex issues when appropriate.Engage customers in meaningful conversations to identify financial needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions.Provides support with digital banking tools to enhance customer convenience and engagement.Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent, high-quality service.Refer customers to specialized partners (lending, treasury, trust, mortgage) as appropriate.Ensure accuracy of transactions and account setups while adhering to compliance standards.Maintain a strong working knowledge of all bank products, services, and systems, and actively pursue ongoing professional development.Actively participate in daily huddles, team meetings, and discussions to support banking center performance and culture.Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and strong communication skills in all interactions with customers and team members.Ensure compliance with all operational procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.Ability to work during banking hours, which are 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM (noon).Strong listening skills, excellent customer service skills, comfortable asking questions and identifying needs to expand customer relationship.Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, high-volume environment.Attentive to details and able to identify high-risk situations.Positive and helpful attitude towards customers (internal and external).Ability to understand how to present features and benefits of products and services to customers with differing needs.Projects a professional image in dress, manor and communication. Qualifications:Ability to work during banking hours, which are 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM (noon).Bachelor’s degree preferred; at least two years related experience and/or training or two years in a relationship sales role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated ability to learn products, services and procedures quickly and accurately.Excellent communication skills – in person and over the phone – with proven ability to tailor features and benefits of products/services to customers with differing needs.Comfortable educating others on technology.Professional, thorough and organized with strong follow-up skills.Performs well in a team environment and proactively collaborates with others to serve customers.Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.Projects a professional image in dress, manor and communication.
