Universal Banker

About the role

Universal Banker assists the branch manager in providing leadership to the bank through efficient daily operations in all areas of banking service. Assumes responsibility for the branch in the branch manager’s absence.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal management for branch staff
• Manages overall branch office operations
• Responsible for maintaining office building, grounds, equipment and fixtures
• Takes and processes loan applications and closes loans
• Opens all types of accounts
• Establishes and helps to attain internal performance objectives for branch office business volume, deposits, loan portfolios and quality of audit reports
• Provides and maintains a professional business-like atmosphere within the branch office
• Manages branch operations when manager is absent
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Conduct day-to-day operations in accordance with the laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and expectations of the Bank. Compliance will be recognized as part of the period performance review; noncompliance may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent banking industry experience
• 6 months to 1 year’s experience as a mortgage loan officer and consumer loan officer to gain knowledge of basic lending policies and procedures (preferred)
• Extensive background in financial institution operating policies and procedures, banking regulations (state and federal)
• Ability to supervise, monitor, and evaluate the work of others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent personal and professional leadership skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software programs
