About the role

A Universal Banker acquires, manages, and retains meaningful relationships with clients using a consultative sales and service approach to proactively fulfill their financial needs.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients and prospects, both in person and over the phone, to build and maintain strong, lasting relationships, discover financial needs, and tailor product solutions.
  • Educate clients on alternate delivery methods and channels, including mobile, online, and ATM options for 24/7 account access.
  • Refer clients to other business partners for specialized financial needs.
  • Apply product and procedural knowledge to solve client problems efficiently and enhance the client experience.
  • Process routine and complex transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
  • Engage in client and prospect management activities, driving proactive sales conversations and identifying sales opportunities to meet assigned sales goals.
  • Leverage ecosystem partnerships and community centers of influence to acquire, expand, and retain relationships.
  • Manage the lobby by greeting and directing client traffic.
  • Perform duties based on the financial center’s needs.
  • Support the Bank’s risk management culture through awareness, knowledge, and sound decision-making.
  • Maintain operational and financial safety and soundness, staying aware of the environment, situation, and client interactions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year of sales and client service experience in a professional environment; prior banking experience highly preferred. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with cash handling and customer service experience in retail or a financial institution.
  • Proven ability to form and expand client relationships.
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple banking systems and applications.
  • National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008.
  • Employment contingent upon meeting initial and ongoing registration requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.

  • Comfortable educating others on technology.
  • Professional, thorough, and organized with strong follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate proactively.
  • Understanding of and ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work Financial Center hours, including weekends and some evenings.
  • Ability to travel if required to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds (accommodations available if needed).
