About the role
A Universal Banker performs routine branch and customer service duties, including accepting consumer and commercial deposits, processing loan payments, cashing checks, and handling savings withdrawals. They promote the bank’s business by maintaining strong customer relations, cross-selling products and services, and assisting customers with account openings, maintenance, closings, and financial service selections. This role ensures compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Responsibilities
- Accept consumer and commercial checking and savings deposits
- Process loan payments and savings withdrawals
- Cash checks
- Process new account transactions
- Maintain good customer relations to promote bank business
- Cross-sell bank products and services
- Open, maintain, and close consumer and commercial accounts
- Assist customers in selecting accounts and financial services
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ direct experience in cash handling
- Experience in teller bank operations preferred
- Computer proficiency
- Basic math skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Dependable transportation
