Universal Banker

About the Role

Bank of Botetourt is seeking a Universal Banker to join our Daleville Town Center Office. This role focuses on the sales and delivery of retail banking products and services, including opening new accounts and processing consumer loan applications. The position serves both consumer and business customers, aiming to expand and foster banking relationships while contributing to branch goals.

In addition to customer-facing duties, this role involves performing various banking tasks such as processing teller transactions, demonstrating superior customer service, and promoting bank products and services.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to bank policies and procedures related to the teller function.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge and procedural expertise to assist staff with technical problems.
• Represent the bank at area service clubs, organizations, and community functions.
• Demonstrate a helpful, friendly attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.
• Interview, process, and act upon all types of loan applications and procedures, if applicable.
• Coordinate lending procedures from the branch to the loan department following established guidelines.
• Ensure the branch balances at the close of each day and assist in resolving balancing problems.
• Help complete the quarterly Branch Administration Report and meet deadlines.
• Participate in setting and achieving retail sales goals.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell and refer bank products and services to customers and prospects.
• Refer mortgage, investments, merchant services, treasury services, and title services to appropriate specialists.
• Review the Daily Overdraft Report and Returned Items Notification email and communicate necessary changes.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, ensuring confidential records are properly secured.
• Understand robbery procedures and post-robbery protocols.
• Open new accounts in accordance with proper procedures and compliance requirements, if applicable.
• Perform maintenance on all account types and ensure proper transaction posting and end-of-day balancing.
• Operate standard office equipment, including coin sorter, currency counter, teller devices, copier/scanner, fax machine, and typewriter.
• Keep the teller station stocked with necessary forms and supplies.
• Assist in processing deposits for the Bank of Botetourt Elementary Savings Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of retail banking experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong computer skills.
• Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
• Ability to multi-task and operate standard office machines.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour. Actual pay is based on factors including budget, work location, relevant skills, education, and experience.
