About the role

This role supports research projects through statistical analysis, manuscript development, and reporting. The position focuses on the preparation and analysis of research data from multiple extramurally funded studies, meeting study aims and goals. The role involves working with the Principal Investigator (PI) and collaborators, including an econometrician, to conduct data analysis using statistical programs such as Stata, SPSS, SAS, R, and Mplus. The position also provides technical support to the research team and contributes to manuscript development, presentations, reports, and grant applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analysis (30%) using regression, structural equation modeling, and other statistical models. Evaluate model assumptions and interpret and summarize results under the direction of the principal investigator.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and presentations (25%). Draft data analytics sections for grant proposals for internal and extramural funding announcements.
  • Prepare data sets for analysis (25%), including pre-processing, cleaning, and archiving data. Develop syntax for data sets for use in multiple statistical programs, remove outliers, conduct preliminary analyses, and ensure compliance with federal mandates for data archiving and submission.
  • Prepare tables, charts, and other reports (10%). Summarize results of data analyses in tabular or graphic formats, convert data into tables, and add descriptions for reports.
  • Provide technical expertise and general support to the research team (10%). Offer recommendations on data formats to maximize efficiency and utility, and provide additional support to meet team goals and deliverables for intramural and extramurally funded activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with coursework in statistics and three years of experience in statistics.

  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors and determine depth perception (continuous).
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction, and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet (continuous).
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (continuous).
  • Ability to work in dusty areas (infrequent).

Pay

Pay range: $66,400.00 – $92,900.00 – $119,500.00 (University-GEN11 pay grade).

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
