Responsibilities
- Performs preparation of mouse tissues for analysis. This includes mouse dissection / tissue harvesting, histopathology analysis, cell culture, molecular cloning, cell transfection / infection, quantitative real time PCR, Western blot, immunostaining, microscopy, and flow cytometry.
- Maintains laboratory equipment by performing checklist systems suitability and required maintenance.
- Maintain a detailed notebook of experiments performed and location of where data is stored.
- Assist in preparing grant writing and IACUC protocols and amendments when appropriate.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and two years work experience in a clinical or research setting; a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science may be substituted for the two years of required experience.
- Having experience of those techniques is a plus, but not necessarily required. The lab can provide various training opportunities.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in immunology, or molecular/cell biology.
