About the role

The Department of Radiology & Radiological Science at the Medical University of South Carolina seeks candidates to join its well-regarded Breast Imaging Division as an Assistant or Associate Professor in a clinician-educator role with a tenure track.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the academic activities of the division
  • Lead didactic teaching sessions for residents and medical students as needed
  • Work closely with seven breast imaging faculty and an academic support team
  • Provide the best education and patient care possible in Charleston, South Carolina
  • Perform clinical practice on MUSC's main campus in downtown Charleston, SC
  • Additional coverage at off-site facilities within the Charleston area
  • Handle call coverage for breast imaging only

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent degree
  • ABR Board-certified and fellowship trained in breast imaging
  • Experience in all aspects of breast imaging (including ultrasound and MR)
  • Able to obtain a permanent South Carolina medical license

  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand
  • Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
