About the role

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Division (Outpatient Clinic), at MUSC is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for clinician-educator faculty positions in the child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division.

Responsibilities

  • Involvement with clinical services in various settings including outpatient, inpatient and residential programs.
  • Direct patient encounters and tele-psychiatry services.
  • Working closely with residents and medical students as a supervisor and educator.

Requirements

  • Must hold a M.D. or D.O. or related degree.

  • Able to lower objects, up to 75 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted.
  • Able to lift and carry patients weighing up to 300 lbs., assisted.
  • Able to push/pull objects, up to 200 lbs., unassisted.
  • Able to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected.
  • Able to see and recognize objects close at hand.
  • Able to see and recognize objects at a distance.
  • Able to match or discriminate between colors.
  • Able to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities.
  • Able to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
  • Able to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet.
  • Must be able to maintain bi-lateral hand movement skills.
  • Able to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
  • Able to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually.
