About the Role

This position serves as the Human Resources Coordinator for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), managing HR functions for both MUSC and MUSC Physicians (MUSCP).

Responsibilities

  • Manages the department’s human resources, including hiring, termination, and employee relations.
  • Oversees and implements personnel systems, including onboarding training and exit interviews.
  • Handles Position/Employee Action Requests, job postings, hiring processes, and salary adjustments (reclassifications and in-band increases).
  • Ensures accurate updates in OurDay for all faculty, staff, fellows, and grant-funded employees.
  • Maintains timekeeping functions in OurDay for classified and unclassified staff, including training on new protocols and running leave reports.
  • Manages annual faculty hiring, offer letters, and the faculty appointment process, including coordination of credentials, licenses, office space, equipment, and support staff.
  • Serves as the employee relations contact, advising on university policies, resolving issues, and promoting departmental communication and compliance.
  • Coordinates annual training, employee recognition programs, and monitors employee satisfaction through check-ins and surveys.
  • Manages faculty appointments, promotions, and tenure processes, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted.
  • Coordinates interviews for prospective faculty, including itineraries, travel arrangements, and logistics.
  • Tracks and assists with provider license renewals (DHEC, medical, and DEA) and maintains credentialing at off-site locations.
  • Handles annual faculty contracts and renewals, including entry into FACTS and verification of receipt.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and five years of relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or a bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform job functions in upright, seated, and walking/mobile positions (frequent).
  • Ability to work indoors continuously and outdoors infrequently in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces, kneel, bend at the waist, squat, and perform pinching operations (infrequent).
  • Full use of both hands/arms, good finger dexterity, and tactile sensory functions (continuous).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders (frequent).
  • Ability to reach in all directions and maintain 20/40 vision, corrected (continuous).
  • Ability to see and recognize objects at close and far distances, match/discriminate colors, and determine depth perception (continuous/frequent).
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction, and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet (continuous).
  • Ability to lift, carry, push/pull up to 15 lbs. unassisted (infrequent).
  • Ability to work in dusty areas (infrequent).

Pay

Pay Grade: University-GEN09 | Pay Range: $52,100.00 - $70,300.00 - $88,600.00 (salary).

Schedule

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 | Work Shift: Day (United States of America).
