Amentum is seeking an Unit Trainer, Maintenance in Las Vegas, NV.

About the Role

Provide maintenance training and maintain training records/documents for the unit’s aircraft mechanics. The Unit Trainer is a qualified aircraft mechanic with additional responsibilities including conducting training, coordinating training from outside vendors, and maintaining training records for personnel in the work unit.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-the-job training for newly hired mechanics.
  • Conduct annual refresher training, including but not limited to:
    • Engine run and taxi qualification.
    • De-icing training.
    • Flight line driving.
    • Health, safety, and environmental training as required.
  • Coordinate and schedule training for and from vendors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform flight attendant duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years mechanic or Inspector experience on jet aircraft operated by the Company.
  • Attain engine run and taxi qualification on all assigned aircraft types.
  • Qualify for RII items listed in the company General Maintenance Manual as deemed necessary by the Chief Inspector.
  • Qualify for and maintain a Government security clearance and associated work location access.
  • Possess a current state-issued driver’s license.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.

Work Environment

  • Work requires walking, bending, climbing, lifting up to 75 pounds, stooping, stretching, and squatting to move equipment and perform inspections on top and below the aircraft.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 60 feet above ground.
  • Eyesight must be 20/20 or correctable to 20/20 with eyewear or contacts.
  • Work is performed in both shop and field environments, primarily on the flight line in shifts (days, swing, or graveyard).
  • May be required to perform NDT inspections depending on shift assignment.

Pay

$62.87 per hour. The compensation range or hourly rate listed is a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
