About the role

The Unit Supervisor (RN BSN) - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Bronson Methodist Hospital seeks a compassionate, clinically strong nurse leader to join our Level III NICU. This role is ideal for an experienced bedside nurse who enjoys mentoring others, supporting team development, and driving exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and operational support for the NICU team.
  • Serve as a mentor, coach, and clinical resource for nursing staff.
  • Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and evidence-based practice.
  • Absorb and support staff development, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, physicians, and leadership.
  • Support unit operations, staffing coordination, and workflow management.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on exceptional patient and family experiences.

Requirements

  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • 2 years of clinical experience required.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in caring for neonatal or pediatric critical care patients.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively mentor, coach, and support nursing staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous NICU and/or PICU nursing experience.
  • Previous charge nurse, preceptor, educator, lead nurse, or other formal/informal leadership experience.
  • Experience coordinating patient flow, staffing, or operational activities.
  • National specialty certification related to neonatal or pediatric nursing.
