About the role
This full-time, night-shift position in the NICU at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago involves clinical leadership and operations. Responsibilities include directing daily unit operations as Charge Nurse, supporting department operations as Clinical Supervisor, and providing frontline leadership to ensure continuity of care.

Responsibilities
- Support administrative responsibility for department service functions in collaboration with the unit Director and/or Manager.
- Assume administrative scope of the unit in the absence of the Director and/or Manager.
- Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with federal/state regulations.
- Prepare, conduct, and oversee department orientation and training of personnel.
- Communicate with staff, physicians, and administration both verbally and in writing.
- Ensure quality of staff and functions during your shift; assist the Department Director in daily operations.
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate personnel; ensure proper use of time, equipment, and staff.
- Ensure efficient department functions; perform direct patient care as needed within scope of practice.
- Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.
Requirements
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintained.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire and maintained.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
- Non-OB Facilities: NRP certification required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
- Professional certification within 2 years of hire preferred.
- Current STABLE certification.

Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $41.00 to $64.09 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

- Full-time, night 12-hour shifts
- Weekends rotating
