Responsibilities
- Provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, including measurement of P‑R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations.
- Troubleshoot monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem.
- Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters in working condition.
- Report malfunctions promptly and appropriately.
Qualifications
Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Work Experience: No experience required; 1 year of experience as a monitor technician required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 days (required).
- Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association (required).
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (preferred).
