Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, including measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem.
  • Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters in working condition.
  • Report malfunctions promptly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • No prior work experience required; 1 year of experience as a monitor technician preferred.
  • Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 days required.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred.
