Full-time, benefits-eligible position in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at High Point Medical Center.
Schedule
35 hours per week on alternating shifts:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
- Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
Pay
Pay range: $18.85 – $28.30 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the unit receptionist, providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
- Answer phones, relay messages, manage communications, and assist with patient flow and unit coordination.
- Process physician orders, maintain patient charts and medical records, enter data accurately into computer systems, and support admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Order, track, and replenish unit supplies and equipment using electronic requisition systems.
- Deliver specimens and requisitions to appropriate departments.
- Assist with quality monitoring activities and provide basic patient support as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure efficient daily operations and continuity of care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Previous Unit Secretary experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
