Overview
Works under the supervision of Nursing Supervisor or Director of Nursing. Performs all clerical duties on the nursing unit to include medical record responsibilities. Provides assistance to Nursing office in a secretarial and receptionist capacity.
What You Will Do
- Affixes nursing leadership team with managing cost of nursing supplies and stationary items.
- Consistently provides exceptional customer service.
- Directs visitors, resident family members, employees, and other members of the public to the appropriate areas of the Center.
- Meds records are prepared appropriately with regards to admission; discharge and transfers.
- Conscientiously observes and follows policies and procedures to insure the safety of residents, families and guests.
- Follows guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous materials handling and universal precautions to avoid personal accidents and injuries.
- Maintains a safe work area.
- Schedules and confirms outside medical appointments and transportation to and from appointments.
- Promotes team work by working effectively as a team member as well as independently.
- Seeks assistance as needed.
- Consistently keeps team informed of changes as they arise, working closely with all team members to provide quality care and customer service.
Qualifications
- Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
- Education/Secretarial Science: Associates Degree (Preferred)
- Experience: Healthcare setting experience (Preferred)
- Healthcare/Medical Assistant: Healthcare/Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- Healthcare computer based systems: Healthcare computer based systems (Preferred)
- Licenses and Certifications: CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
