Unit Secretary - FT Float: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
Responsibilities
- Acts as receptionist for unit/program, answers telephone, takes messages and delivers them.
- Completes the appropriate documentation for patient room changes.
- Inputs requests for Plant Operations and assures follow up.
- Maintains patient medical records.
- Files lab work, EEG and EKG results in the patient’s chart after the physician reviews and signs the record.
- Contacts the Admitting department when a patient arrives to be admitted.
- Break down discharge charts.
- Notifies physicians of consults.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Experience in hospital clerical preferred.
