About the Role

The Unit Secretary position organizes and manages the department's activities, including office supply inventory, room utilization, and audio/visual equipment utilization. You will provide clerical support for the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Director of Risk Management & Safety, coordinate special projects, and interact with physicians, hospital directors, executives, employees, patients, and families.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the completion of department assignments.
• Manages office supply inventory and room/audio-visual equipment utilization.
• Provides clerical support for leadership and coordinates special projects.
• Interacts with physicians, hospital executives, employees, patients, and families.

Requirements

• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).
• High school graduate or equivalent (required).
• Graduate of Unit Secretary or medical terminology course (preferred).
• Unit Secretary experience (preferred).
• Experience with computers and medical terminology (required).
• Previous customer service and secretarial experience (preferred).
• Advanced computer skills (preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of PC-based computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• General knowledge of legal procedures/practices.
• Strong spelling, grammar, verbal communication, and written composition skills.
