About the Role

Performs a variety of clerical and supportive tasks within a hospital unit, acting as a receptionist and assisting the patient care team. Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, managing patient charts, handling communication, and maintaining the unit's organization and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Reception and Communication: Greet patients and visitors, answer phones, and relay messages.
• Patient Chart Management: Organize, update, and maintain patient records and charts.
• Clerical Support: Assist with documentation, data entry, and other administrative tasks.
• Patient-Centered Care: Support the patient care team in delivering high-quality care.
• Maintaining a Safe and Organized Environment: Ensure the unit is well-stocked, clean, and organized.

Skills and Qualifications

• Clerical and Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication.
• Customer Service Skills: Professional and compassionate interaction with patients and families.
• Medical Terminology Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terms and procedures.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and hospital information systems.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
