Unit Operator - Plastics - 2nd Shift (2:40pm - 11:00pm)

Responsibilities

• A Blender Operator converts specific additives into a powder mixture.
• A Compounder weighs and organizes raw materials according to Teknor Apex's program.
• A Packaging Operator processes and packages finished PVC pellets into boxes and bags.
• A Console Operator transfers bulk raw materials into mixing vessels following precise load sheets.
• Operators ensure equipment operates safely, obtain processing instructions, and communicate quality concerns.
• Operators provide break relief and assist in filling in on other jobs as needed.
• Operators successfully pass a 90-day probationary period.
• Operators maintain a tidy workspace and demonstrate a teamwork attitude.
• Operators attend departmental meetings.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Handle, cut, and dump bags weighing up to 60 lbs. many times per shift.
• Bend over to scoop material into boxes and drums, loading up to 20,000-40,000 pounds during a shift.
• Operate fork and hand trucks.
• Bend over inside blenders to scrape walls.
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs.
• Ability to wear required safety equipment.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Strong work ethic and regular attendance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
• Ability to work in a warm to hot environment.
• Ability to drive a forklift safely with a license.
