About the role
Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking an experienced, hands-on Unit Manager for Thermal TRD - Thermal Reduction to lead thermal processing and incineration operations at our precious metals recycling and refining facility in Fairless Hills, PA. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on safety, reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, and Safety teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily thermal reduction and incineration operations
- Coach, develop, and support production leaders and teams
- Drive a strong, proactive safety culture
- Improve throughput, reliability, and operational performance
- Coordinate maintenance activities, outages, and equipment improvements
- Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental requirements
- Use process and production data to identify improvement opportunities
- Partner across Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, and Safety
- Strengthen operator and supervisor training and development
- Champion continuous improvement across the operation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in thermal processing, incineration, metals refining, or a similar industrial environment
- Previous leadership experience in manufacturing or production operations
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety and environmental compliance
- High-temperature Processing Equipment Experience (Preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on plant environment
Candidates must meet applicable ITAR and NAID eligibility requirements and successfully complete required pre-employment screening.
