About the role
In the role of Unit Manager working at the can plant in Golden, CO, you will be part of the Rocky Mountain Metal Company (RMMC) team. You will lead the day-to-day operation of the production teams for the RMMC Cans department. This role oversees the leaders of multiple production lines in managing key safety, quality, and productivity metrics in alignment with World Class Supply Chain (WCSC) tools, standard work practices, and daily management systems. You will report to the RMMC Plant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Key resource to ensure all safety procedures and protocols are in place, understood, and executed against for production teams
- Oversee daily production operations and support for the RMMC Cans team, directly responsible for salaried Process Leads, Shift Leads and Line Leads across the department
- Build and execute staffing and budgetary plans for production lines within the can plant
- Professional development of Process Lead, Shift Lead and Line Lead roles within line Trios
- Development and execution of training and capability building across hourly/salaried roles
- Participation in the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) pillar in the World Class Supply Chain structure
- Participate in the development and execution of capital projects within the can plant
- Apply technical resources in alignment with key business needs to deliver results
- Partner with brewing, customer service, technical services, safety, quality, and engineering departments to enable alignment on key objectives or projects across RMMC
Requirements
- Proven leadership of operating teams, preferably in can manufacturing, packaging, or similar high-speed production environments
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team in leading a large department
- Knowledge of World Class Supply Chain tools, standard work practices, and daily management systems (centerline, clean/inspect/lube, defect handling, etc.)
- Previous experience in a "trio" role is a plus (Line Lead, Maintenance Lead, Process Lead)
- Continuous improvement approach to addressing losses, sharing learnings, and building capability
- Strong bias for the development of teammates and direct reports

- Knowledge of can making operations (theory & application), cost management, and LEAN concepts is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or Science of Business preferred, or equivalent work experience

Pay
Posting salary range: $126,500.00 - $166,000.00 + 15% target short term incentive. On average, $23,000 is spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives, and EAP.
