About the role

Join the Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital team in Arcadia, California. As a Unit Manager (LVN), you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our skilled nursing facility, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care and services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures for the nursing service department.
  • Ensure the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects day-to-day nursing procedures.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
  • Ensure nursing services personnel comply with job descriptions, company policies, and procedures through auditing and monitoring.
  • Assist the Director in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Complete accident/incident reports and procedures as necessary.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
  • Ensure nursing service personnel comply with the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
  • Mediate resident, family, or personnel issues with professionalism.
  • Ensure new hires assigned to the unit are properly oriented and trained.
  • Act as a lead for the unit in all State surveys and inspections.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years as a Charge Nurse in a Skilled Nursing facility.
  • Active LVN license in the State of California.
  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields.
  • Familiarity with medical software and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supervisory experience desired but not required.

  • Ability to build rapport with patients.

Pay

$40-$42 hourly.

Schedule

  • 3:00pm-11:30pm shift.
  • 4 days on, 2 days off.
  • 8-hour shifts.
  • Overtime available.
  • Weekends and holidays required.
  • Full-time (40 hours per week).
