About the role
Join the Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital team in Arcadia, California. As a Unit Manager (LVN), you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our skilled nursing facility, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care and services.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures for the nursing service department.
- Ensure the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects day-to-day nursing procedures.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
- Ensure nursing services personnel comply with job descriptions, company policies, and procedures through auditing and monitoring.
- Assist the Director in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- Complete accident/incident reports and procedures as necessary.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
- Ensure nursing service personnel comply with the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
- Mediate resident, family, or personnel issues with professionalism.
- Ensure new hires assigned to the unit are properly oriented and trained.
- Act as a lead for the unit in all State surveys and inspections.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years as a Charge Nurse in a Skilled Nursing facility.
- Active LVN license in the State of California.
- Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields.
- Familiarity with medical software and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervisory experience desired but not required.

Pay
$40-$42 hourly.
Schedule
- 3:00pm-11:30pm shift.
- 4 days on, 2 days off.
- 8-hour shifts.
- Overtime available.
- Weekends and holidays required.
- Full-time (40 hours per week).
