Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned staff from the start of the shift until relieved, without interruption.
- Adhere to instructions from medical/clinical staff regarding clients and inform the administrator on duty of information affecting client health and well-being.
- Ensure staff perform bed counts and headcount checks at least every 30 minutes and document results to provide direct supervision of clients.
- Communicate behavioral expectations and program regulations to clients and enforce compliance with all written orders approved by the Shelter Manager.
- Monitor and supervise client behavior during shelter activities, providing direction and redirection as needed to ensure safety.
- Document all serious incidents, daily progress, menu changes, and activities completely, accurately, and in a timely manner in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
- Escort clients safely to and from designated points as directed by the administrator on duty.
- Travel frequently between areas of the shelter and escort clients between locations.
- Monitor staffing assignments to maintain required staff-to-client ratios at all times.
- Model behaviors and social skills consistent with organization and program policies.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with personnel on other shifts to promote continuity of care.
- Plan, organize, and supervise client activities in accordance with the daily activity schedule.
- Promote positive interaction between minors and encourage minors to take responsibility in daily program routines.
- Meet all applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards.
- Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions, and operations.
- Update and maintain records regarding each client’s clothing and personal items.
- Monitor, coordinate, and delegate daily operations as needed throughout the shift.
- Maintain required documentation and ensure documentation by administrator on duty and direct care staff is completed in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and agency requirements.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 2+ years’ experience working with low-income, at-risk, homeless individuals, or vulnerable populations strongly preferred.
- Attendance: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by the employer.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clear record.
- Vehicle: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
- Other: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations as business needs require.
