Unit Clerk, Pediatrics

Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC) is looking for a detail-oriented Unit Clerk to become an essential part of our nursing and clinical team in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you won't simply manage paperwork—you'll help keep communication flowing, appointments coordinated, records accurate, and our clinical teams prepared to provide exceptional care to our incredible kids. Responsibilities
Your attention to detail and ability to stay organized will help support:
- Medical Records: Help maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date resident information
- Appointments & Follow-Up: Coordinate appointments, transportation details, and necessary documentation
- Nursing Team Support: Help ensure supplies, paperwork, and essential information are ready when our clinical teams need them
- Admissions & Discharges: Support smooth transitions by helping coordinate documentation and census updates
- Communication: Serve as an important connection point between nursing, clinical teams, families, and other departments
- Daily Unit Operations: Help keep the nursing unit organized, responsive, and moving forward throughout the day
- Maintaining accurate, organized medical records and clinical documentation
- Coordinating and scheduling medical appointments, labs, dental, audiology, diagnostic services, and follow-up care
- Supporting documentation for admissions, discharges, transfers, and care plans
- Ordering, organizing, and monitoring nursing unit supplies
- Maintaining accurate EMR information, resident census, and unit records
- Assisting with pharmacy reviews, prior authorizations, insurance updates, and supporting documentation
- Answering calls and providing professional, welcoming assistance to staff, families, visitors, and healthcare partners
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), and nursing leadership
- Helping ensure important information gets to the right person, at the right time
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, typing, data entry)
- Experience with medical terminology preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- PointClickCare experience highly valued
- Organized, dependable, and able to multitask
- Friendly, professional communication skills
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level

Pay
Salary $17 - $25 Hr.
