Unit Clerk - Med/ONC 7P

About the Role

Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties.

The Unit Clerk facilitates the efficient operation of the healthcare unit through consistent organizational and communication skills, assisting RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Physicians in the patient care process. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support the efficient operation of the healthcare unit using organizational and communication skills.
• Assist RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Physicians in the patient care process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of hospital experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience.
• Strong communication and customer relation skills.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Sitting for 80% of the workday; mobility for 20% of the workday.
• Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Frequent reaching, use of hands, and repetitive action.
• Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds; pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous need for clear speaking and hearing sensitivity in conversations (phone or in-person).
• Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
• Work is indoors, protected from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Minimal noise levels; frequent computer work.
• Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock, infectious disease, hazardous chemicals, and radiation.

Third Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
