About the role
The RN Unit Care Coordinator supervises and manages patient care by coordinating with patients, families, and staff in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Nursing diploma (associate’s or bachelor’s degree)
- Active RN license in the applicable state
- Preferred: one year of geriatric nursing experience
- CPR certification (obtained at hire or during orientation, and kept current)
Responsibilities
- Lead daily nursing and CNA activities, providing leadership on the unit
- Coordinate and manage patient care plans and services
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Administer medications as prescribed and respond to emergencies
- Maintain professional relationships, confidentiality, and compliance with policies
- Deliver excellent customer service and support patient well-being
- Assist in emergency procedures, including patient evacuation
- Communicate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of practice standards and regulations
- Ability to make independent decisions when needed
- Strong judgment, reasoning, and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to perform job functions
- Excellent communication skills in English
