About the role
The RN Unit Care Coordinator oversees and manages patient care on their unit, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications
- Nursing diploma (associate’s or bachelor’s degree)
- Active RN license in good standing
- Preferred geriatric nursing experience
- CPR certification (obtained during orientation if not already certified)
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff and CNAs
- Coordinate and manage patient care plans and services
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Administer medications as ordered
- Respond to emergencies and ensure safety
- Foster positive relationships with staff, patients, and vendors
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and codes of conduct
- Exhibit professionalism, integrity, and teamwork
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of practice and laws governing post-acute care
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Strong communication, reasoning, and judgment skills
- Ability to handle physical tasks and work productively within a team
