Unit Assistant - Per Diem

About the role

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a Unit Assistant to join their perioperative team. This position is available on a per diem, three times monthly basis.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the multidisciplinary health care team to maintain and promote the standards of care and safety.
• Assists with transportation of patients, room turnover, and equipment.
• Knowledge of operating room set-ups for various surgical procedures.
• Maintains supplies and recognizes when equipment needs repair.
• Disposes of filled linen hampers and medical waste appropriately.
• Maintains a hazard-free environment.
• Promotes a supportive and team-oriented environment.
• Supports departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range strategic plan, mission, vision, and values of the hospital.

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Hospital and/or operating room experience preferred.
• BLS/Heart saver certification required.

Pay

The base pay scale for this position is $31.00 - $31.00.
