Union Yard Associate

About the role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Porter / Yard Worker to station and retrieve equipment on the location's property. This role maintains a written maintenance schedule and may service equipment as necessary to ensure it meets all specifications. The Yard Associate inspects equipment prior to and after rental to document any lost and/or damaged items.

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required by the job.

Responsibilities

• Station and retrieve equipment on the property
• Maintain a written maintenance schedule for equipment
• Service equipment to ensure it meets specifications
• Inspect equipment before and after rental to document lost or damaged items

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred
• Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers (written and oral)
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• General mechanical aptitude
• Safety-focused mindset
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more

You will become eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days from your start date.

Pay

Pay Rate: $22.98 - $24.98 per hour, depending on the agreed rate under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement for this location.
