Union Production Operator

Summary

CHS in Mankato, MN is hiring for a Union Production Operator position. The role requires general plant labor, including tasks like snow removal, housekeeping, loading/unloading, and forklift operation. Shifts are 12-hour rotating schedules with weekends and holidays included. Compensation is $28.15 per hour, based on collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Perform snow removal
• Housekeeping, sanitation, and maintaining work area appearance
• Load and unload products from trucks and rail
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance
• Operate forklift and skid steer (training provided)
• Help with plant outages
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and orderly
• Fill in for shift operations jobs as needed
• Assist with all production operations
• Establish a culture of safety with team members
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must meet the age requirement

Additional Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED preferred
• Pre-employment screening based on job requirements and industry guidelines may be required

Physical Requirements

• Considerable periods on feet including walking, standing, climbing steps, and climbing ladders
• Lifting, using tools, shoveling, and sweeping
• Able to push, pull, and physically lift 50 lbs
• May be required to work while squatting, kneeling, or crawling
• Work in noisy, dusty, and undesirable conditions
• Climb ladders and work at heights up to 120 ft
