Union Non-CDL Delivery Driver

Sanipac, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a safety-conscious Union Container Delivery Driver in Eugene, OR.

About the role

Drive specified routes to pick up and deliver recycling and garbage containers to new and existing customers. Daily work involves heavy industrial lifting, moving at a brisk consistent pace, and occasional bending. Safely, efficiently, and courteously serve customers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate delivery truck to deliver containers
• Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections
• Perform physically demanding tasks, lifting and moving containers that weigh over 75 pounds
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities
• Courteous interaction with customers
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Clean driving record with the ability to obtain a CDL through on-the-job training if required
• Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws
• Ability to work 40–50 hours per week
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English
• Must pass criminal background check, drug panel screening, and motor vehicle report

Working Conditions

• Extensive physical activity requiring strenuous physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75 pounds
• Moderate noise level
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions
• Frequent mounting and dismounting of the truck throughout the day
• Exposure to outside weather, including wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday–Friday, starting around 4:00 AM–6:00 AM, ending when the route is complete (typically 9–11 hours per day)
• Occasional Saturdays
• Year-round work with no seasonal layoffs
• Home every night

Pay

Starting pay range: $25.73 per hour, depending on experience.
