Union HVAC Service Journeyman: Chiller Mechanic or HVAC Journeyman Mechanic

This role supports our Harleysville, PA branch location, serving customers throughout the greater Philadelphia, PA area. All candidates must be a Union Member or, if they have valid trade experience, obtain an approved authorization to work under our Bargaining Agreement from the UA National Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Siemens will coordinate with the union to ensure candidates operate under our Bargaining Agreement for compensation, pension, health, and welfare. Candidates must provide the completed authorization to Siemens prior to starting work.

As an HVAC Service Journeyman, you’ll perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers and other HVAC equipment in commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. You’ll collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality service while upholding Siemens’ safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers and various HVAC equipment.
  • Execute contract maintenance visits and service requests to extend equipment life cycles; assist in inspections or assessments.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with the field quoting team to provide parts information, equipment data, and labor hours for accurate repair quotations.
  • Serve as a direct customer contact, repairing equipment and systems at customer locations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Utilize cutting-edge software, technology, hand-tools, and rigging equipment to repair equipment following blueprints or engineering specifications.
  • Enforce safety standards, record safety audits, and ensure compliance with the Siemens Safety Program.
  • Work as part of a dedicated team, including flexibility for overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of chiller experience, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers from all manufacturers.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld computers.
  • Compliance with company safety programs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Universal EPA Certification.
  • Valid CT S-2 Journeyman’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
  • Demonstrated expertise in chiller mechanics and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of chillers and HVAC equipment manufacturers.
  • Previous experience in commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.
  • Additional certifications or training related to HVAC systems and equipment.
