About the role

As a CBRE Union Engineer, you will be part of a skilled engineering team supporting a major telecommunications client in the Milwaukee, WI area, responsible for maintaining mission-critical building systems and equipment. This is a union position focused on ensuring reliability, uptime, and operational excellence across facilities supporting telecommunications infrastructure. This job is part of CBRE’s Engineering and Technical Services function, which is responsible for providing preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical support for building systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore routine technical service and equipment issues to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Address complex system and network-related issues that may impact multiple locations or critical site operations.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, system configurations, and accurate technical documentation.
  • Support calibration and maintenance of equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles and procedures to complete complex assignments and recommend solutions.
  • Coach and support team members by sharing technical expertise across multiple disciplines.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of all work performed, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory standards.
  • Build strong working relationships across teams to support operational goals and achieve consensus on technical solutions.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly to stakeholders, supervisors, and team members.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Universal EPA Certification (required).
  • Active union membership or ability to work in a union environment.
  • Prior shift lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
  • Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and make sound technical decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various environments.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
