About the Role

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company and yourself by providing assistance and maintaining a professional demeanor when dealing with client staff, visitors, and coworkers.
• Observe and Report: Stay alert and be on the lookout for any suspicious activities and incidents.
• Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
• Security Patrol: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of your assigned areas performing security officer duties as required.
• Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
• Safety Officer: Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, enforcing the policies and procedures of the assigned location and reporting any safety concerns.
• Emergency Response: Be ready and able to assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel using proper protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED), per MCL 338.106717(2).
• Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Federal contracts require compliance with federal laws regarding marijuana use, regardless of recreational or medicinal use.
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
• Must not have been convicted of misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (Child, Infant, and Adult), or willing to become certified and physically capable of administering lifesaving care when needed.
• Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
• Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments, either in-person or via radio.
• Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Qualifications

• Military veterans and individuals with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Schedule

• Thursdays: 1500–2300
• Fridays: 1500–2300
• Saturdays: 2300–0700
• Sundays: 1500–2300
