About the role

Join us as an Underwriting Specialist, SEMM, Retail Casualty to contribute to AIG's mission of helping customers manage risk. Our team works on diverse lines including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex accounts and be responsible for underwriting an Admitted Casualty portfolio.
• Develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and prospects within your portfolio.
• Identify target markets, design strategies for lead development, and build prospect lists.
• Communicate risk appetite and NA Casualty Value Proposition to brokers.
• Collaborate with Distribution, Territory Managers, and other underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross-sell opportunities.
• Evaluate, prioritize, and select submissions for underwriting.
• Create cross-sell opportunities for other Commercial products.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with brokers and clients.
• Participate in special underwriting projects as needed.
• Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Advanced working knowledge of NA Casualty lines of business including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks.
• Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
• Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.
• Expert with underwriting analytical tools and technology.
