Position Purpose

RLI is a specialty insurance company that has been helping customers navigate the complex world of insurance and risk for over 50 years. We provide an innovative portfolio of property and casualty coverage, along with a strong offering of surety bonds, to help individuals and businesses protect their assets with confidence. Our Contract Surety Division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Operations team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our Underwriters and maintaining the high standard of service our clients expect.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to our national underwriting teams.
  • Issue, code, calculate premiums, and invoice bonds with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Bill additional and return premiums to ensure proper file closure.
  • Aid in underwriting (electronic) file maintenance and underwriting audit support needs.
  • Obtain and organize credit reports, corporate state filings, and contractor license information for new submissions.
  • Research and help resolve billing and account current discrepancies.
  • Send letters and forms on behalf of Underwriters, maintaining professional correspondence.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple processes and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide backup support to team members across multiple locations as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires a high school diploma.
  • Associate's degree a plus.
  • 0+ years of related experience for consideration.

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to quickly grasp new concepts, systems and processes.
  • Prior experience in insurance or surety operations is a plus but not required.

Compensation Overview

The base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The below range may be modified in the future. Base Pay Range $23.86 - $32.81
