Underwriting Manager - Professional Liability

Responsibilities

• Leading the team of underwriters in driving premium, rate, and profitability goals
• Achieving premium, rate and profitability goals
• Aiding in refining and updating the Underwriting Guidelines
• Training, coaching and developing team members
• Participating in the sourcing, interviewing and hiring of new team members
• Driving broker engagement strategies to enhance new business growth and renewal retention
• Applying analytics to distribution management
• Maintaining own book of business

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years’ commercial lines underwriting experience
• Experience in and understanding of the E&S competitive marketplace
• Demonstrated technical expertise and product knowledge in Manufacturing and Products
• A drive to be creative and innovative in advancing the success of the assigned team/region
• A willingness to challenge the status quo and embrace change
