Underwriting Analytics Manager
About the role
PEMCO is seeking an Underwriting Analytics Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience, 10+ years in Property & Casualty underwriting roles, and prior experience in data analysis techniques and tools.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Underwriting's subject matter expert on cross-functional projects
- Recognize resource constraints and actively seek ways to reduce manual work effort through elimination or automation
- Engage with Sales and Customer Service business partners to assist with deepening their knowledge of underwriting objectives and incorporating them into their responsibilities and customer interactions
- Drive improvements and efficiencies in Underwriting operations
- Develop, document, and maintain line-of-business underwriting guidelines
- Develop proactive plans for underwriters to expand agency relationships
- Develop and conduct educational meetings and activities for ongoing change management and underwriter professional development
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics, and business conduct
Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years in Property & Casualty underwriting roles with increasing levels of scope, scale, and/or complexity
- Prior experience in data analysis techniques and tools
- 2+ years of experience training and developing new and experienced underwriters
Qualifications
- MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to use a variety of data analysis tools, such as Tableau, advanced Excel techniques, etc.

Pay
The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual’s qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Greater Seattle area target pay range: $140,768-$172,050. The full pay range is $117,307-$195,511. Outside Greater Seattle area target pay range: $124,231-$151,837. The full pay range is $103,526-$172,542. Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle. Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.
Schedule
Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares.
