Underwriting Analyst II
Maverick Payments is a family-owned, privately held full-service payment provider based in Calabasas, CA. We create innovative technology for sales organizations like ISOs and ISVs looking to monetize payments through our white-labeled payments stack. Our products include merchant acquiring services, a proprietary gateway, ACH processing, fraud and chargeback tools, analytics, and other value-add services. Our team spans underwriting, risk management, compliance and legal, technology and product development, onboarding, customer support, and information technology.
About the role
Under the direction of the Vice President, Risk and Underwriting, and the Director of Underwriting, the Underwriting Analyst II is responsible for underwriting merchant accounts, verifying and validating merchant data, and determining preliminary or final merchant account approval. The Underwriting Department handles merchant applications, due diligence, and routine verification and validation of merchant data (KYC/KYB).
- Collect, review, and analyze a merchant applicant’s relevant history and records, obtaining additional information to determine suitability as needed.
- Determine the level of risk and security needed for approval.
- Offer recommendations on whether to approve an application.
- Communicate and coordinate with outside agents regarding merchant applications.
- Respond to tickets or other requests from customers, partners, and internal company personnel.
- Collect data for reporting purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of payment industry experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze, test, assess, and interpret information or data to make recommendations that enhance business operations.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks as priorities shift.
- Strong analytical and research skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously while producing a high output of quality work.

Pay
$29.00 - $33.00 per hour.
