Underwriter - Multinational Middle Market

About the role

Zurich is looking for an experienced Underwriter - Multinational to join our team in the Central Region, focusing on Middle Market Multinational business. This position is based in one of the following office locations: Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Overland Park, KS, or St. Louis, MO. You will work on a hybrid basis, being in the office 3 days a week, with flexibility to set a schedule that supports you, customers, brokers, and agents. This market-facing role requires visibility in the marketplace 10-15% of the time. Our motto is "One Carrier, One Solution," selling Multinational and Domestic business together to provide holistic solutions to multinational customers.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business within the Middle Market Multinational division.
• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws, regulations, and rating manual rules.
• Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships in the Central Region.
• Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Market Facing area.
• OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment.
• Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations, and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Multinational experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Pay

The proposed salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 (national average, may vary by location), with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. Pay is based on role, location, skills, and experience, and follows local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases.
