Underwriter - Multinational Middle Market
This position will focus on Middle Market Multinational business and is based in one of the following office locations: Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Overland Park, KS, or St. Louis, MO. You will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis, being in the office 3 days a week, with a schedule that supports you, customers, brokers, and agents.
About the role
As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills by underwriting and analyzing new and renewal Multinational Casualty accounts. This is a market-facing position, requiring visibility in the marketplace 10-15% of the time. Our motto is "One Carrier, One Solution," selling Multinational and Domestic business together to provide a holistic solution to multinational customers.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business within the Middle Market Multinational division
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules
- Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships in the Central Region
- Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Market Facing area, OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
- Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations, and guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Multinational experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office experience
Pay
The proposed salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 (national average, may vary by location), with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
