About the role

This role is based in Broomfield, Colorado and is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office. As a Personal Lines Underwriter, you will evaluate and underwrite residential property in catastrophe-exposed areas, working closely with agents to assess exposures, structure tailored coverages, and support profitable portfolio growth.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and underwrite residential property in catastrophe-exposed areas
  • Utilize catastrophe modeling software and geographic hazard tools to assess risk
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners to drive opportunities and support business objectives
  • Clearly communicate underwriting decisions, terms, and market options to agents and internal partners
  • Achieve production targets and portfolio metrics while maintaining acceptable loss ratios
  • Travel to visit agencies a few times per year

Requirements

  • 1+ year of customer service experience in personal or commercial insurance
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Proven customer service, sales, and agency management skills

Pay

The applicable base salary range for this role is $53,800 to $114,600. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Schedule

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
