AIG is reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. Join us as an Underwriter to contribute to our industry-leading Environmental Casualty team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, prioritize and select submissions to be underwritten.
  • Analyze risk exposures, special or common hazards, claims experience, and appropriate controls.
  • Adhere to guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price risks.
  • Ensure underwriting files and services adhere to standards and compliance guidelines on assigned accounts.
  • Offer coverage, terms, and conditions that generate profit for the company while meeting customer needs.
  • Capture market intelligence and broker feedback on accounts.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise with product(s) in the Financial Lines portfolio.
  • Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients (internal & external).

Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant professional experience; Insurance experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environments, adapt to changing requirements, and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.
  • Ability to facilitate cross-function collaboration, especially regarding technical aspects.
  • Detailed-oriented with demonstrated ability to self-direct, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Takes initiative on projects and assignments, seeks alternate solutions when necessary.
  • Exposure to NA Casualty products is preferred (Environmental, Excess or Primary Casualty, NA Auto, WC, AL, GL, DBA, Foreign Casualty).
