Berkley Management Protection offers a modular suite of management liability products through the Grove℠, their bespoke and easy-to-use platform tailored towards independent agents. Their Trellis Management Liability Portfolio℠ of coverages includes directors and officers, employment practices, fiduciary, cyber, crime, and miscellaneous professional liability.
Responsibilities
- Manage all related underwriting tasks for renewal accounts in assigned regions to promote written premium growth and favorable loss ratio results.
- Work closely with TMs, AVPs, and RVPs across assigned regions.
- Underwrite and price risks for renewal accounts in accordance with BMP’s business rules and personal underwriting authority.
- Own the lifecycle of submissions, including quoting, filing documents, binding, issuing, and obtaining signed applications.
- Support consistent underwriting best practices to ensure rating, pricing, profitability, and structuring adequacy.
- Assist underwriters in executing strategic initiatives and provide solutions for system, guideline, training, or product-related issues.
- Identify and manage special underwriting projects as needed.
- Engage with agency personnel to provide superior customer service and establish strong agent relationships.
- Collaborate with TMs, AVPs, and RVPs to implement a sales culture and improve the independent agent onboarding experience.
- Monitor competitors’ offerings and emerging industry issues.
- Embrace technology and actively improve skills through formal and informal learning.
- Serve as a resource for innovative ideas to challenge the status quo.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years of management liability underwriting or related experience at an insurance company or agency, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience contributing to a high-performing marketing/sales team in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- Advanced product knowledge within the Management Liability suite (D&O, Cyber, EPL, Crime, Fiduciary, and MPL).
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of independent agents.
- Advocate for Berkley Management Protection customers with a passion for their brand experience.
- Agile team player with strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to self-organize, prioritize, and seek help when needed.
- Execution-oriented with attention to detail, driven by natural curiosity and competitive spirit.
