Berkley Environmental, established in 2004, offers a comprehensive portfolio of environmental liability coverages on both an admitted and non-admitted basis, including commercial property casualty insurance, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, and claim services.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned brokers to underwrite and process environmental and/or casualty lines for the Environmental Services Industry and/or Environmental lines for any industry segment.
- Underwrite Pollution, Professional Liability, General Liability, Automobile, Worker Compensation, and Excess lines focused on the Environmental industry in collaboration with brokers.
- Visit existing and potential new brokers to discuss products, underwriting appetite, premium collection policy, profitability issues, pricing, and coverage.
- Handle all lines of business and rating programs while managing a book of business to achieve new business, renewal retention, and ROE objectives.
- Process all aspects of Broker accounts, including financial analysis of insureds’ audited/reviewed financials using appropriate tools.
- Create and solicit renewal applications from brokers after reviewing expiring policy and loss information.
- Underwrite endorsement requests from brokers and provide sign-off where required.
- Assist other underwriters in processing renewals, new business, and endorsements.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of commercial underwriting experience.
- Multi-line rating experience.
- Capable of working in a “paperless” work environment.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and email systems.
- Experience with risk selection, pricing, and account management tools.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $75,000–$125,000. Eligible to participate in an annual discretionary bonus. The actual salary will be determined by factors such as scope, complexity, location, skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
