Underground Utility Foreman

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise utility crews performing underground utility installation, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems.
  • Plan and coordinate daily utility installation activities to maintain project schedules and productivity.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, utility layouts, and grade information.
  • Coverage labor, equipment, and material needs with project leadership to support project schedules.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure utility installations meet project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Verify trench safety, excavation practices, and utility installation methods comply with OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
  • Monitor crew productivity and provide coaching to develop employees and improve performance.
  • Complete required production reports, time records, safety documentation, inspections, and other project records.
  • Identify and resolve field issues related to utility installation while communicating with project leadership as needed.
  • Support implementation of company safety policies, OSHA regulations, erosion control requirements, and project-specific requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience installing water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and underground utility systems required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of foreman or crew leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, utility layouts, and project specifications preferred.
  • OSHA Competent Person and OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Position must follow Morgan Corp.'s Fit-for-Duty Physical Program.
  • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and/or night shifts as project schedules require.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental conditions common to heavy civil construction.
  • Strong commitment to Morgan Corp.'s safety policies, procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction plans, utility layouts, and project specifications.
  • Ability to prioritize work, solve problems, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing job site conditions.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project sites throughout Morgan Corp.'s operating area.
