About the role

The Foreman plays a crucial role in leading and managing assigned design and construction projects/teams. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Foreman is responsible for achieving the company’s objectives, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring project goals are met within the established schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain construction schedules aligned with project objectives.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and delegate tasks to crew members.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with quality standards on construction sites.
  • Maintain regular communication with property owners, tenants, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure successful completion.
  • Assess productivity rates and provide progress reports to supervisors.
  • Review and interpret project plans, drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Organize work schedules and manage crew attendance.
  • Oversee the operation of machinery and equipment on-site.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members, contractors, and workers based on project priorities.
  • Promote and enforce the safe use of all tools and safety gear, including helmets and goggles.
  • Manage team performance to maintain project schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address routine issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership and warm managerial style.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or related role.
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to drive projects to timely completion within budget.
  • Experience in hiring, training, and managing workers.
  • Skilled in sourcing and overseeing construction tools and materials.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record (able to be insured by carrier).
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Compensation

Compensation: $25.00 - $29.00 / hour
