Underground Utility Estimator

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, bid documents, and addenda.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Prepare estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Solicit, review, and manage vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Identify project risks, conflicts, and unusual conditions.
• Develop cost analyses using production rates, material pricing, and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare and submit accurate bid proposals by established deadlines.
• Present estimates to management for review and approval.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and visit project sites as needed.
• Maintain organized estimating records and bid files.
• Build professional relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Communicate with management, field personnel, engineers, owners, vendors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Prior construction estimating or underground utility experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Experience with Bid2Win and Bluebeam preferred; training is available.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, team-oriented, and willing to learn.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
